Gavin Proffitt: Director of Federal Government Affairs, AbbVie
Gavin Proffitt is a Director of Federal Government Affairs at AbbVie, where he works on federal health policy.
Gavin has spent his career working on health care policy across Congress, the executive branch, and the private sector. He began his career in the U.S. House of Representatives and later worked for the Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus of House Republicans. He went on to serve in senior advisory roles at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and as a professional staff member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he worked on health policy and oversight. Before joining AbbVie, Gavin served as Health Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.

Growing up with a parent with a spinal cord injury gave him an early understanding of the challenges patients and families face, as well as the importance of access to high-quality care and treatment.
That experience continues to shape Gavin's commitment to ensuring the perspectives of people living with spinal cord injury and their families are reflected in health policy and regulatory decision-making and to advancing policies that can accelerate access to promising restorative treatments.
Gavin is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
